Aurangabad, March 7:

The agency which is installing 750 close circuit TV (CCTV) cameras under the Safe City Project of Aurangabad Smart City Development Corporation (ASCDCL),

has dug newly constructed cement concrete roads at different places.

It may be noted that the State Government gave Rs 100 crore to Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) to construct cement roads in the city in 2017.

The cement road between Seven Halls and TV Centre was developed at the cost of Rs 20 crore from the same fund.

The contractor, which is installing CCTV cameras on the road has dug the road with a breaker machine as per its convenience. The contract has dug road at many places including TV Centre and Chishtiya Chowk, but, have not repaired it.

The agency dug 10 inches road opposite MGM on Sunday morning.

Deputy chief executive officer of Smart City Pushkal Shivam said that a notice was served on the concerned agency stating to repair the road. The AMC competed for the work Seven Hill-Central Jakat Naka last year. The planning for the installation of CCTV cameras was done three years ago.

The contractor concerned and Smart City Advisory Committee knew about the location of CCTV camera installations. Why marking was not done for CCTV camera installation while developing road is a million-dollar question.
