The 15-day, 2,681-km Godavari Parikrama, initiated by P.P. Swami Rajendradass Devacharya Maharaj (Shridham Vrindavan), reached Paithan on Saturday night. On Sunday morning, the saint group performed Godavari snan and pooja at Teerth Kamal behind the Sant Eknath Maharaj Samadhi Mandir. Swami Rajendradass Maharaj said the parikrama will be conducted from 5 to 21 December.

Around 500 saints are participating, including P.P. Rasikacharya Kishordas Devju Maharaj and Chinmayanandaji Bapu. After their arrival, the saints were welcomed at Maheshwari Bhakt Nivas, where a discourse was held on the spiritual, cultural and historical importance of the Godavari.

MLA Vilas Bhumre welcomed the saints. Their presence filled Paithan with a deeply devotional atmosphere, drawing large numbers of devotees.
