Star New Zealand batter Kane Williamson has gone unsold at the IPL 2025 mega auction. The former New Zealand captain has struggled with injuries in recent years and has featured in only three matches over the last two seasons with Gujarat Titans. In those games, he scored just 27 runs.
Williamson’s best IPL season came in 2018 when he scored 735 runs. However, his performances have dipped since then, with his batting form remaining inconsistent. Given his injury concerns and recent struggles, it was expected that Williamson would face difficulty attracting bids. As a result, he remains unsold for the upcoming IPL season.
The 34-year-old, once a mainstay in IPL teams, has seen his career take a downturn since leading New Zealand to victory in the 2021 World Test Championship.
