Shaik Rasheed has been sold to Chennai Super Kings for INR 30 lakh at the IPL 2025 mega auction. The 19-year-old Andhra Pradesh batter, who was a standout performer in the Under-19 World Cup, has impressed with his batting skills.
Rasheed has scored 296 runs in 10 T20s at an average of 42.28 and a strike rate of 137.67, showcasing his potential as a powerful batter. With experience in first-class cricket, Rasheed could become a key player for CSK, potentially filling the crucial number three spot in their lineup.
As the 43-year-old MS Dhoni stays on for another season, CSK managed to retain their star captain at a modest INR 4 crore under the new IPL rules that allow Indian internationals without a recent BCCI contract to be bracketed in the uncapped category. CSK also secured key players like Ravindra Jadeja for INR 18 crore, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shivam Dube, and Matheesha Pathirana, ensuring a strong squad for IPL 2025.
CSK also acquired the following players in the auction: Devon Conway (INR 6.25 crore), Rahul Tripathi (INR 3.40 crore), Rachin Ravindra (INR 4 crore), R Ashwin (INR 9.75 crore), Khaleel Ahmed (INR 4.80 crore), Noor Ahmad (INR 10 crore), Vijay Shankar (INR 1.2 crore), Sam Curran (INR 2.4 crore), Anshul Kamboj (INR 3.40 crore), Mukesh Choudhary (INR 30 lakh), and Deepak Hooda (INR 1.70 crore).
