IND vs SA, 3rd day 3 Test: Most runs after 500 international innings, Virat Kohli break Sachin Tendulkar record

The duo of Rishabh Pant and Virat Kohli gave Team India a comeback in the third Test. South Africa beat Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane in the first 11 balls of the third day.

India's start in the second innings was also disappointing. With the return of Lokesh Rahul (10), Mayank Agarwal (7), Cheteshwar Pujara (9) and Ajinkya Rahane (1), India were 58 for four. However, Rishabh and Virat saved Team India's innings.

Rishabh came back and completed the half century and Virat supported him with restrained play on the other side. But, after the lunch break, India got the fifth blow. Virat Kohli, who scored 29 off 143 balls, returned and his 94-run partnership with Rishabh Pant came to an end.

In the second innings of the second Test in South Africa, it was India's second-best partnership for a wicket of 5 or below. Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar's 172 (2010, Centurion) partnership is at the top of the list.

This was Virat Kohli's 500th international innings and he holds the record for most international runs after the 500th innings of his career. He scored 23,358 runs in 500 international innings, breaking Sachin Tendulkar's record of 22,214.
