Maharashtra Kumbh Mela 2027: CM Devendra Fadnavis Will Make Decision Regarding Demands Of Saints Says Nashik DM

Maharashtra will be holding the Kumbh Mela in Nashik-Trimbakeshwar in 2027. A special authority will be set up to organise and manage the religious gathering said Maharashtra Government. Jalaj Sharma, DM, Nashik, said that they had a meeting with Hindu priests and saints and he will speak to the administration regarding their needs, and the CM will make the decision for the Kumbh Mela.

He said to News Agency ANI, “Today, under Municipal Corporation, a meeting was held with all the saints in Nashik area...the saints spoke regarding their demands and needs. We will speak to the administration regarding their needs, and CM will take the decision...Nashik & Trimbakeshwar both have their own importance. Administration is not biased. In the coming days, if an order comes from above, we will have more clarity about this.”

A Rs 1,100 crore plan has been prepared for the development of Trimbakeshwar, a key religious site associated with the Kumbh Mela. The new authority law will be implemented soon to accelerate preparations for Simhastha Kumbh Mela 2027.

To improve the water quality of the Godavari, a sewage treatment plant will be launched next month. Additionally, an action plan will be introduced to purify 24 drains flowing into the river. CM Fadnavis also expressed concerns about the water quality at Kushavarta and assured that necessary improvements will be made.
