Actor Vicky Kaushal will be seen in the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in his next film. Film director Laxman Utekar has confirmed this.
Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj is the island of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the founder of the Maratha Empire. Director Laxman Utekar said, "Vicky Kaushal is absolutely the right choice to play this historical character." The film 'Mimi' is a romantic comedy starring director Utekar and Vicky Kaushal.
The director said, “Vicky Kaushal's personality, stature and physique match that of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Apart from this, Vicky is a brilliant artist. We did not do any 'look test' because I was sure that he could play the role of Sambhaji Maharaj. "
The director said, "Vicky Kaushal will be trained in fencing, horse riding and other things for four months. We will start shooting after preparation. He said that he is excited to show the story of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj on the big screen.
Utekar said, "We have seen many films on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, but no one knows how great a warrior Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj was or what his contribution was to the Maratha Empire and Maharashtra."
He said that the shooting of the film will be started in August-September. The film will be produced under the banner of Dinesh Vijan's company 'Maidak Films'.
