10 sanitation employees found COVID positive

Aurangabad, April 1:

A total of ten sanitation employees of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) were found COVID positive during the last eight days.

It has become a cause of concern for the AMC administration.

The Civic Body has stopped the biometric attendance of employees from a safety point of view. The employees were urged to contact the Solid Waste Management Department if they face any health issue.

Without bothering their life, sanitation employees, by following all safety norms, are working regularly. COVID is spreading fast in the district.

The administration found that employees working in the morning shift were found pandemic positive during the last eight days on a fast pace.

Solid Waste Management started making efforts to provide standard facilities to sanitation employees. The AMC is also taking care of sanitation workers of Reddy Company.

AMC officer Nandkishor Bhombe said that any sanitation faces any health issue should contact Solid Waste Management.

“Employees biometric attendance in the morning was stopped for safety reason. All the employees were given gloves, mask and sanitiser. The oxygen level of employees is being examined time and again through oxymeter,” he said.
