City experiences rains after 20 days

Aurangabad, June 27:

Heavy rains lashed the city on Sunday evening after a gap of 20 days. Many roads were submerged in rainwater with just one hour’s rains.

Pedestrians and vehicular traffic were affected badly from it.

Chikalthana weather centre recorded 22.2 mm rainfall up to 8.30 pm. The city had experienced rains on June 6 last time.

Since then, people were waiting for rains due to humidity.

Clouds gathered in the sky in large numbers after 5 pm and it started raining at 7 pm. Heavy rains lashed the city and rural areas.

Ponds came on roads in areas like Gulmandi, Anguribaugh.

Waterlogging was reported in low-lying areas. There was light rain after 8 pm.

MGM JNEC Weather Centre recorded 27.4 mm rainfall while MGM Gandheli registered 24.9 mm rainfall.

Weather expert Shrinivas Aundhkar forecasts light rain on Monday.

The vehicular traffic was affected on Jalna Road, Gajanan Maharaj Mandir Road, Garkheda, Kalda Corner, Peer Bazaar, Osmanpura areas. Roads wore a deserted look in many areas at night. Fruit hawkers took their hand-carts home, considering possible rain.
