Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The administrator of the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation (CSMC) will hold a meeting at the Smart City office to discuss the inclusion of urban settlements within the limits of the Aurangabad Cantonment Board (ACB) into the municipal corporation. This meeting comes after the Urban development department of the State issued an order on March 27, requesting the municipal corporations to provide feedback on the potential inclusion of urban settlements from the cantonment boards.

The administrator Dr Abhijit Chaudhary was asked to submit detailed information on the total area and population of the cantonment board and total population of the municipal corporation after inclusion in the ACB. In response, Chaudhary has called a meeting with senior officials of the ACB to discuss this important issue.

Collection of VET stops from today

The collection of 'Vehicle Entry Tax' (VET) on vehicles entering the ACB limits has been closed since Wednesday midnight. This fee was levied subject to the prior approval of the Ministry of Defense. Ministry official Sharmishtha Maitra directed ACB to immediately stop collecting this fee. ACB chief executive officer Sanjay Sonawane notified that the counters for collecting this fee have been closed as of Wednesday night.
