NIELIT holds week-long programmes held for senior citizens

Aurangabad, July 20:

National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) organized various programmes to create awareness and empower senior citizens through its e-Services' at Matoshri Vriddhashram between July 5 and 6.

The sessions spread over more than one week were conducted for providing information about the number of State and Central Government schemes for the welfare of senior citizens.

They were provided access to free resources, including more than 100 videos in Marathi and Hindi languages.

In a special session, Dr Shekhar Pande, Medical Officer NIELIT, made these senior citizens aware of COVID and explained precautions to be taken in this pandemic to avoid infection.

Retired district court judge Sharadchandra Bharuka hoped that under CSR, residents of this Vriddhashram who don’t have Smart Phone may be provided with a basic Smart Phone. Adv Lalit Joshi also spoke.
