Two youths severely beaten up in Satara police station

Aurangabad, July 19:

Five policemen called two youths at the Satara police station and severely beat them with sticks and belts after tying their hands. They also threatened to extern them, the youths mentioned in a written complaint given to the commissioner of police Dr Nikhil Gupta. This incident occurred on July 16 between 2 pm and 6 pm, they mentioned in the complaint.

Ganesh Eknath Shete, a resident of Paithan Road, gave a complaint to the CP. He mentioned that he and Vishal Dadarao Devkate were called at the Satara police station. Five policemen took both of them in a room and tied their hands with rope. They then severely beat both of them with sticks and belts. They also threatened them that they would include their names in false cases if they made any complaint in this regard and demanded Rs 50,000 to them, Shete mentioned in the complaint. PI of the Satara police station Surendra Malale said that two youths were not beaten at the Satara police station, and there is no substance in the complaint. Instead, the complainant beat two persons on the road, a few days back. He is a hardcore criminal on police record, he said.
