Colds and coughs are common in children. In such cases, parents give their children a known cough syrup or consult a doctor if they do not feel well. But the same cough syrup has now taken lives of 3 children.

Three children have died due to cough syrup. This shocking incident has come to light in Delhi. Sixteen children have fallen ill after taking cough medicine at a Mohalla clinic in Delhi.

According to the information received, the investigation report has revealed that the children died due to the side effects of Dextromethorphan cough syrup. Following this, the Director General of Health Services of the Central Government has given instructions to the DGHS of Delhi.

A notice has been issued to the Mohalla Clinic and Dispensary not to give Dextromethorphan Syrup to children below the age of four years. Dr. Anil Goyal has given important information about when and which children should be given Dextromethorphan syrup.
