Mother's Day - A cult classic, one of the most popular films of Bollywood, the legendary Nargis Dutt in Mother India describes true epitome of mother's love and sacrifice of a mother. A remake of Mehboob Khan's earlier film Aurat (1940), it is the story of poor village woman Radha (Nargis), who struggles to single-handedly raise her sons and survive against a cunning money-lender. A must watch on Mother’s Day.
Badla - Produced by Shahrukh Khan's Red Chillies Badla starring Amrita Singh, Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu in the lead is based on the revenge story of a mother to track the murder of her son.
English Vinglish - English Vinglish depicted the struggle of a mother to adjust with the teens and their updated thoughts. Starring Sri Devi in the lead, English Vinglish was one of the biggest hits of the year. A mother who struggles to make her children realize her worth has been the theme of the movie.
Paa - Vidya Balan, Amitabh Bachchan, and Abhishek Bachchan came together in Paa to highlight an unusual theme. A son is battling with death and Vidya Balan being the single mother portrays a strong role to save her son till the last breath. Auro, who is suffering from a genetic disorder hasn't left with much time to survive yet Vidya Balan does every bit to fulfill her son's last wish.
Beta - A story of a son's (Anil Kapoor) devotion to his stepmother (Aruna Irani), the film follows the life of a child whose biological mother dies and all he ever wants from that day forth is to feel a mother’s love. So his wealthy father remarries a woman, who turns out to be running only after his money. The movie is a must watch for all kids.
Nil Battey Sannata - Swara Bhaskar who is playing the role of a single mother and goes beyond every limit to let her daughter dream. She encourages her daughter to study and dream high in order to achieve success. Being a maid, she struggles for the sake of her daughter's dream.
Mom - The 2017 crime thriller, Sridevi's last film before her untimely demise, saw her essay the role of a mother-turned-vigilante who sets out to exact revenge against the men who had raped her step-daughter and left her for dead. The film very delicately shows to what extent a mother can go to take revenge for the sake of their children.
