The power struggle that has been going on for the last nine days came to an end today. Today saw a new twist in the politics of the state. Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde was sworn in as the Chief Minister, while Devendra Fadnavis became the Deputy Chief Minister.

Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday at a press conference announced the appointment of Shiv Sena rebel Eknath Shinde as the new Chief Minister instead of becoming the Chief Minister himself. The seat for which BJP has joined hands with Shiv Sena.

The BJP seems to have taken a step back by stepping down as chief minister, but in reality the move is a long jump. With this one decision, BJP seems to be preparing for the future. This one step of BJP has answers to many questions, concerns and possibilities.

Shinde, who is leading the Shiv Sena government, will not only keep the party and its supporters involved, but will be in a position to bring the Shiv Sena under complete control. From here, an important game will be played to start a Thackeray-free Shiv Sena. Both the government and the organization lead.

Speaking in support of Hindutva, Fadnavis has given important hints of the next strategy. Shinde and BJP have been doing politics by making Uddhav Thackeray's desire for power and the issue of getting a seat by compromising with principles.

Supporting BJP to Shinde-led Shiv Sena will not be seen as opposition to Shiv Sena but as family and patriarchal opposition. It will also reduce tensions between supporters of both parties on the basis of ideological equality. BJP is not against Shiv Sena.

BJP sees future prospects. In Maharashtra, the BJP is planning to stand on its own two feet and do politics and come to power. For the BJP, the decision to support Shinde is a great opportunity and a great opportunity to improve the image tarnished by two and a half years of political turmoil.
