Google Maps will now help you save fuel: Here’s how to use this feature

Google Maps has introduced its 'Fuel Saving Feature' in India, allowing drivers to optimize their routes and conserve petrol and diesel. This new functionality empowers users to efficiently manage fuel consumption during their journeys.

Previously exclusive to the United States, Canada, and Europe, Google Maps' Fuel Saving Feature is now accessible to users in India. This expansion brings the benefits of efficient route planning and fuel conservation to Indian drivers using the popular navigation app.

The feature notifies users of a 'quick route' on their phones, suggesting the fastest route when active. However, it's important to note that this functionality, while effective in providing speedy routes, does not presently include a specific fuel-saving option when not in operation.

To access the navigation settings in Google Maps, follow these steps: 1. Open the Google Maps app on your smartphone 2. Tap your profile picture or initial 3. Go to Settings and tap on Navigation 4. Scroll to Route options 5. Tap Prefer fuel-efficient routes to turn on eco-friendly routing 6. To select your engine type, tap "Engine type" and choose accordingly .

7. Search for your destination or tap it on the map 8. In the bottom left, tap Directions 9. Swipe up on the bottom bar 10. Tap "Change engine type" and select yours 11. Confirm by tapping Done 12. Choosing Your Engine Type.
