The process of booking train tickets through the IRCTC website of the Indian Railways has now undergone a major overhaul. Under the new rules, passengers are now required to verify their mobile number and e-mail ID before booking a ticket.

No train ticket can be booked online without a mobile number and e-mail ID verification. According to the IRCTC, the new rules will only apply to users who have never booked a train ticket since the onset of the coronavirus epidemic.

How to verify mobile and e-mail ID Click on the verification window after visiting IRCTC's website or app. After entering the verification window, register your registered mobile number and e-mail id.

The verification option will appear on the right side of the screen while the edit option will be available on the left side. If you want to change or update your information, you can do so through the Edit option.

After clicking on Verification you will get an OTP on the registered number. You can use it to verify your mobile number. You can also verify your e-mail ID in the same way. A code will appear on your registered e-mail ID. Using this you can send your E-mail.

Many special trains are run by the Railways on the backdrop of the summer season holidays. In addition, additional coaches are added to the existing trains on the routes where special trains cannot be operated.

As every year, with the onset of the summer season, the number of train passengers has increased significantly. As a result, it has become difficult for railway passengers to get confirmed seats.
