Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

A pickup van overturned near Bhatana village in Vaijapur tehsil on Sunday around 11.30 am, resulting in one death and three serious injuries.

The deseaced has been identified as Santosh Nikam (37), a resident of Chikatgaon. He, along with Bhagwan Chandrahan Nikam (23), Pappu Babasaheb Nikam (28), and two others. They were travelling to a wedding in Shivrai, Kannad tehsil, along with four others in a pickup (MH-12-RN-9493) when the driver lost control and the vehicle overturned. Locals helped shift the injured to the hospital. Santosh died during treatment at the government medical college and hospital (GMCH). Two passengers are still under treatment. Shiur police recorded the case and conducted a panchnama at the scene.
