Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Rural areas of Marathwada are bearing the brunt of rising temperatures. The region is recording maximum temperatures above 42°C, which is taking a toll on water reserves. Water supply through 106 tankers has commenced in 89 villages and hamlets across the division.

This number is likely to increase further in May. Tankers are currently operational in villages across three districts- Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna and Latur, including 26 hamlets.

In Sambhajinagar, 42 wells have been acquired, including 15 for tankers and 27 for other purposes. In Jalna, 31 wells while in Latur, 21 wells have been acquired, bringing the total number of wells under possession to 154. Water is currently being provided by 102 private and 4 government tankers.
