Aurangabad, April 9:

A total of 107 foreign students from 11 countries had taken online admission at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu), under the 'One Window Scheme' during 2020-21. Of the total foreign students, 44 had taken admission for PhD and 63 for various postgraduate courses in different streams.

Earlier, the university would witness a large number of admissions from Central and East Asian countries. Later on, the strength of foreign students got lowered. As a result, the Bamu vice-chancellor Dr Pramod Yeole launched the online admission process through Foreign Students Cell (FSC).

Of the total admission, 44 had taken for PhD and 63 for various postgraduate courses. The majority of these foreign students are from Yemen (89 students), Somalia (07), two each from Sudan and Thailand, and one each from Afghanistan, Kango, Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Nepal and Palestine, said the director of FSC, Dr Mustajib Khan.
