Aurangabad, May 18:

More than 12,500 people have been vaccinated in the Cantonment general hospital of the Aurangabad Cantonment Board (ACB) so far. Various diagnostic tests including antigen, corona preventive vaccination as well as various services of covid care center are being provided.

The lockdown that has begun in the country has had a serious adverse effect on the cantonment board sources of income, which have almost depleted. Even after that, efforts are being made by the ACB to provide all the health services related to corona under one roof. Antigen tests are also being carried out in the same area, while samples for RT-PCR tests are being sent to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) VRDL lab for testing. Also, low cost diagnostic tests have been facilitated through the Lions Diagnostic Center in the same hospital. Corona vaccination is also being carried out and so far 12,500 people have been vaccinated. At present, only people above the age of 45 are vaccinated with Covishield. Apart from that, there is a picture that the cantonment dwellers have got support as the outpatient department is also functioning regularly. Medical officer Dr Geeta Malu and resident medical officer Dr Vinod Dhamande are providing the services. The ACB has also launched a 15 bedded covid care centre. The center has an oxygen facility and 12 patients are being treated at the center. The centre will soon be facilitated with a central oxygen supply system. The work on the system is also underway at the war level and is expected to be completed soon.
