1251 new patients found in dist, total rises to 64,243, 53,498 persons cured, 1388 have died

Aurangabad, March 19: As many as 1251 new Covid-19 patients were found in the district today taking the total number of infected persons to 64,243. Today, 459 patients (municipal corporation 380 and rural 79) were discharged taking the total number of discharged patients uptill now to 53,498. A total of 9357 patients are being treated. In the pandemic that struck last March, 1388 people have lost life in the district.

In the municipal corporation limits, 1062 new patients were found. Areas where patients were detected included Samarathnagar (8), Beed Bypass (17), Mayur Park (9), N-4 (6), N-7 (7), N-2 (17), Jaibhavaninagar (10), Ulkanagari (10), Garkheda (18), Osmanpura(7), Mukundwadi (15) and N-8 (9).

The 189 patients from rural area included Kannad - 5; Bajajnagar - 17; Pisadevi (6) and Wadgaon Kolhati (7).

Five deaths reported

Five patients including a 50-year-old woman from TV centre, 42 years old man from Nevpur Kannad, a 25-year-old youth from Khokadpura, a 65-year-old woman from Siddharthnagar and a 58-year-old man from Basayyenagar succumbed to the virus.

The district received some relief from the grip of the virus today. On Thursday, 15 persons had succumbed but the toll came down to 5 today. Also, the number of infected on Thursday was 1557 and today it dropped to 1251.
