Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

A 14-year-old student from Sillod tehsil, died by suicide by hanging at her home on Friday midnight. The incident came to light on Saturday morning at 8 am.

The deceased has been identified as Jyoti Jaiswal (Jalkhi Vasai village in Sillod tehsil). Jyoti was a Class 9 student at the local village school. The reason behind her extreme step is yet to be determined. After the incident was discovered, relatives rushed her to the rural hospital in Ajantha, where a post-mortem was conducted and the body was handed over to the family. She is survived by her parents and a brother. An accidental death report has been registered at the Ajantha police station. Further investigation is being conducted under the guidance of police sub-inspector Amol Dhakane, along with police sub-inspector Rameshwar Ingle and constables Dilip Tadvi and Ravindra Bagulkar.
