15 invigilators, president & secretary of education society booked exam malpractice

Chhatrapati Sambhjinagar:

A flying squad of the Education Department led by Ashwini Lathkar (Education Officer, Secondary) Zilla Parishad visited an examination centre at Kalpataru Junior College in Nimgaon Vaijapur tehsil of the district on Thursday and found a large number of answer guides, notes and micro notes scattered in and around the centre and also in possession of an examinee.

The President and the secretary of the college’s education society, centre chiefs, one student and 15 invigilators were booked with police for the malpractice. The students were taking an HSC Biology subject paper.

The mass copying case at Pimpalgaon Valan in Phulambri was fresh, the Education Department's flying squad made a surprise visit to Kalpataru Junior College today.

During this visit, the squad found copies and other illegal materials such as guides, and micro Xerox outside the examination hall and around the centre premises.

As soon as the squad entered the centre, students threw copies outside the examination hall.

Taking serious note of this matter, action was taken against the school administration, and 15 supervisors including the centre chief for allowing students with guides and notes at the centre examination. Also, action was taken against one student for carrying a guide as a copy for the Biology paper.

In this matter, Ashwini Lathkar (Education Officer), has ordered the bloc education officer (BEO), Panchayat Samiti, Vaijapur, to immediately lodge a complaint against the president and secretary of the education society of college, centre chief and invigilators as per the instructions of districtCollector, ZP CEO, divisional president of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.

Further action may be taken against the junior college, centre chief and invigilators on the basis of information obtained from the committee report, which was formed to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter.

When a flying squad of the Education Department visited Kalpataru Junior College, Nimgaon Taluka, Vaijapur, on Biology paper day, it was found that the centre chief, invigilators, chairman and Secretary of education society neglected their duties as mentioned in the examination conduct duty list and misled and cheated the government.

A written order was given to the BEO, Panchayat Samiti, Vaijapur to immediately lodge a case against the concerned.A committee which was appointed to conduct a thorough probe into all the cases was asked to submit a report immediately.
