Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A 15-year-old boy, Maruti Chandan Padewal, lost his life after a speeding car rammed into his moped. Two of his friends, who were riding with him, sustained injuries in the accident that occurred on Tuesday at approximately 3 pm in front of Raj Petrol Pump.

The Padewal family resides in the Lions Club Colony in Chikalthana. On the afternoon of the incident, Maruti and his two friends were travelling on a moped from Seven Hill towards Chikalthana. As they passed Raj Petrol Pump, a speeding car (bearing registration number MH-20-GE-7756) struck them from behind. Due to the high velocity of the impact, all three youths were thrown a significant distance. Maruti died instantly at the scene, while his two companions were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Legal Action

Following the accident, the car driver fled the scene. Based on a complaint filed by the deceased’s uncle, Prem Padewal, the Cidco Police have registered a case against the absconding driver. Authorities are currently using the vehicle's registration details to track down the suspect.
