Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) appointed 18 assistant professors on consolidated salary.

It may be noted that there are 289 sanctioned posts of assistant professors, associate professors and professors while 125 posts of them are vacant in different departments of the university (Bamu). After the approval of different authorities and bodies, the administration invited proposals for the 18 posts in 14 departments which are Physics Department (Osmanabad sub-centre), Electronics, Botany, Biotechnology, Fine Art, German, Psychology, Geography, Pali and Buddhism, Nanotechnology, Mathematics, Dramatics, Zoology and Gopinathrao Munde National Institute of Research and Development for Rural.

The university received 163 application form while the eligible candidates were called for 80 marks written test.

Top five scorers in the test for each post was invited for the 20 marks interview. The selection committee recommended the candidates'' names based on personality, presentation, teaching skills and subject knowledge. A total of 18 candidates were appointed for 14 departments.

The committee comprises Dr Rajesh Karpe (Management Council member), Capti Dr Suresh Gaikwad and deans of all the faculties.
