2 duped of Rs 12.15 lakh in car purchase transaction

A man from Nashik duped two persons from Aurangabad of Rs 12.15 lakh in the car purchase transaction. A case has been registered at the City Chowk police station against the fraudster, identified as Syed Rafiq (Nashik).

According to the details, complainants Mohammad Jahed and his cousin Shafiq Khand had to purchase two cars. They received information that Syed Rafiq has the cars for sale. Rafiq sent the photos of the cars to them on Whatsapp and told them to deposit the amount of both the cars in his account. Accordingly, they deposited Rs 11.80 lakh in the Bank of Baroda account of Rafiq and sent Rs 35,000 through Paytm. However, after taking the amount, the accused did not give the cars and started ignoring them. Later, Jahed and Shafiq came to know that the owner of the cars, shown to them on Whatsapp was not Rafiq but someone else. When they realized that they have been duped, they lodged a complaint at the City Chowk police station while PSI Vijay Pawar is further investigating the case.
