Aurangabad, Dec 10:

Thieves broke into two flats in an apartment in Maulinagar of Deolai in the night of December 6 and made off with 9.6 tolas of gold and cash of Rs 23,000.

According to details, the complainant Prakash Suryakant Tiprale (31, Maulinagar) who works in a private company has gone to attend a wedding ceremony to Latur along with his wife at 10 pm on December 6.

Taking the opportunity, thieves broke the door and escaped with gold ornaments, including locket, rings, earrings. The incident came to light when Tiprales returned home on December 8.

Another flat located on the next floor of the building was burgled. The thieves took away gold ornaments including chain, earrings, ganthan, silver chain and cash of Rs 23,000 from the flat owned by Dnyaneshwar Jadhav.

The flat owners lodged complaints with Chikalthana Police Station.

Assistant police inspector Vishwas and officers of rural crime branch visited the spot and tried to trace the path of the criminal. PSI said that police had launched a probe in the case.
