Jalna: Two persons lost their lives, and four others were injured in an accident caused by a speeding container colliding with a pickup truck early Friday morning near Channel No. 385 in the Somthana Devi Temple area on the Nagpur-Mumbai Samruddhi Expressway.

According to highway police, the pickup truck (RJ-08-GA-6170) traveling towards Nagpur had a tyre burst near the Somthana Devi Temple early Saturday morning. Another pickup accompanying it was parked by the roadside, while the punctured vehicle was placed in the middle of the expressway for a tyre replacement. During this time, the speeding container (NL-01-AB-9449) crashed into the pickup, leading to the tragic deaths of Deepak Bavaria (35) and Dharmaraj (30), both residents of Ganeshpura, Dei Bundi, Rajasthan.

Upon receiving the information, a highway police team rushed to the scene, moving the vehicles to the roadside. Medical personnel from the 108 ambulance service, including Dr Amol Dhyadkar, Anand Bansode, driver Anand Bhore, and Dr Sunil Wagh provided immediate medical aid and transported the injured to the government hospital, said the Badnapur police.
