Villagers rescued drivers using tractor & JCB

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Two persons were killed on the spot in a container truck and an Eicher tempo head-on collision near Shivpur village on the Dahegaon-Bidkin State highway in Gangapur on Sunday evening
One of the deceased drivers was identified as Nagesh Sarde (Mohol, Solapur, currently residing in Bidkin), while the identification of the other container truck driver was underway until late at night.
According to details, the Eicher tempo (MH 20 EL 9406) was speeding from Dahegaon towards Bidkin.
The tempo collided head-on with an oncoming container truck (MH 04 MR 7042) near Akash Hotel in the Shivpur area at 5 pm today. The collision was so severe that the front parts of both vehicles were completely destroyed.
Both drivers were trapped in their respective cabins in a critical condition. As soon as the sound of the accident was heard, villagers from Shivpur Phata, including Badrinath Dubile, Hanuman Chavan, Ananda Nikam, Karbhari Dubile, and other youths, rushed to the spot.
Tempo driver Nagesh Sarde was trapped in the steering box. To rescue him, the villagers pulled the bonnet open with the help of a tractor, while a JCB machine had to be used to extricate the container truck driver. In this accident, one of the driver's arms was severed from his body.

Injured die before reaching hospital
Waluj police immediately called an ambulance and shifted both critically injured men to the Gangapur Sub-District Hospital. However, after examination, the doctors declared both of them dead. One of the deceased has been identified as Nagesh Sarde, while the name of the other deceased is yet unknown. A case was registered at the Waluj police station, and the police are conducting further investigations. The accident disrupted traffic on the State highway for some time.
