A tragic accident claimed the life of a two-year-old girl in Kabirnagar, Osmanpura, on Thursday morning. Arya Yogesh Thorat fell into a five-foot-deep water pit dug for house construction and drowned around 9.30 am.

Arya’s father, Yogesh Thorat, had the pit dug outside their home to store water for construction work. That morning, family members drew water from it but left the pit uncovered. As Arya, the youngest of three sisters, played near the site, she accidentally stepped into the pit. Her family realized she was missing after about 30 minutes and, after a frantic search, found her submerged in the water. They rushed her to GMCH , but doctors declared her dead on arrival. Osmanpura police have launched an investigation and are examining whether negligence played a role in the tragedy.
