Aurangabad, March 24:

Out of the total number of Covid-19 patients reported from the district during the past one year, 20 per cent of them are reported in the last eight days, it is learnt.

The first Coronavirus infected patient was detected in the district on March 15, 2020. Hence the total number of Covid-19 patients reported till March 15, 2021 (one year) is 58,829. However, the health administration got worried on the detection of 11,722 patients from March 16 to 23. The increase in patients has pushed the administration to struggle to meet the demand for bed and provide treatment facilities to them. The patients had to run helter-skelter for beds. Hence the experts appealed to the citizens to maintain social distance, wear facemasks and use sanitisers or clean their hands through soap water. This practice will help to prevent from undergoing the traumatic experience.

The reporting of more than 1,000 Coronavirus infected patients in one day started from the third week of March in the district. There was reporting of 1,271 patients on March 16, 1,335 on March 17, 1,557 on March 18, 1,251 on March 19, 1,679 on March 20, 1,432 on March 21, 1,406 on March 22 and 1,791 on March 23.
