Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar
District has recorded over 200 heat-affected patients, with 13 diagnosed as heat stroke-like cases and 195 others suffering from various heat-related ailments, as authorities brace for a worsening heatwave.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of rising temperatures and an impending heatwave across the Marathwada division, including Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, in the coming days. Mercury levels in the region have already crossed 42°C a staggering 5.1°C above the seasonal average raising serious public health concerns. District health officer Dr Abhay Dhanorkar has appealed to citizens to take urgent precautions. He advised residents to watch for heat stroke symptoms such as headache, dizziness, nausea, and weakness, and to seek immediate medical attention at the nearest government hospital upon noticing any such signs.
