219 children infected with Covid-19 in ten days

Aurangabad, May 20:

Corona infection has started spreading among children. Between May 10 and May 19, 48 children in the age group of zero to five and 171 children, adolescents and youths in the age group of 5 to 18 were infected with corona, according to the report of the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC). At present, these patients are being treated in private hospitals in the city as there is no covid center for children.

The second wave of corona infection is coming under control. The district is coming out of the danger zone as the number of patients is declining. But as corona infections have been on the rise among children and adolescents, the administration and parents are worried. There are currently 1,654 active patients. There are 400 patients under treatment at the covid center, including Meltron. Many of the children are admitted to a private hospital. The report of AMC has revealed that many children between the ages of zero and 18 have contracted corona. From May 10 to May 19, 48 children between the ages of zero and five and 171 children between the ages of 5 and 18 became infected with corona. These patients have a large number of asymptomatic patients and some have mild symptoms.

Meeting at the divisional commissioner office

A second meeting of pediatricians was held at the divisional commissioner office with divisional commissioner Sunil Kendrekar, regarding covid center for children. The meeting discussed the care to be taken for pediatric patients, medicines, ventilators and starting of covid center. This includes doctors in government and private hospitals.
