Aurangabad, June 24:

A total of 281 villages are still under the grip of Covid 19 in the district while 1028 villages are on the path of becoming Covid free.

No patient was found in 526 villages during the last 28 days, 330 villages in 14 days and 172 villages in seven days.

As per the figures of the health department of Zilla Parishad (dated June 18), the pandemic spread to 1309 villages out of total 1368 villages of the district.

A total of 412 villages had no Covid in the first wave, 204 villages in the second wave.

District health officer Dr Sudhakar Shelke said that the lowest affected villages from the pandemic virus are from Soyegaon tehsil.

A total of 905 villages have less than 25 pc patients, followed by 209 villages between 25 and 50 patients, 127 villages have patients between 51 to 100 and 68 villages have more than 100 patients.

The number of tehsil-wise villages active patients is as follows; Aurangabad-24 villages (60 patients), Gangapur 60 villages (168), Kannad-40 (118), Khuldabad-14 (58), Paithan-49 (149), Phulambri-13 (30), Sillod 15 (29), Soyegaon-9 (19) and Vaijapur-57 (185).
