Aurangabad, June 13:

Justice Vibha Kankanwadi from the Aurangabad bench of Bombay High Court granted conditional bail on a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh to three accused involved in the sensational Sherkhan murder case.

According to details, Akram Khan alias Sherkhan was murdered near Holy Cross Marathi School in Cantonment on the night of December 28, 2019, over a land dispute.

The Son of the deceased lodged a complaint against five persons. After the probe, found no evidence against four of them.

Mujtaba Rafiq alias Mustafa alias Akram Pehelwan Shaikh Abdul Wahab was released on bail.

Police had submitted a charge sheet in the court against seven persons.

The accused filed bail application through advocates Abhaysingh Bhosale, Satej Jadhav and M A Latif.

The names of the accused who were granted conditional bail are Shaikh Siraj Durf Ajji Dada Shaikh Nasir, Shaikh Bashir alias Munna Bochra Shaikh Karim and Shaikh Ashfaque Shaikh Ishaque. The court observed that the applicant was in jail for a long time.

“As the charge sheet was submitted, there is no need of remand for further probe. All the collected evidence need to be examined. The case depends on situational evidence. The role of each applicant is very small in the incident. Considering Covid situation, it will not be appropriate to keep the accused in jail. It will take time to complete the case. So, there is no need to keep the accused in custody,” the court said and granted conditional to the accused. Advocates Mohsin Patel and Rohidas Solse assisted the lawyers of the accused. Adv S B Narwade represented the Government. Adv Nitin Gaware appeared for the complainant.
