Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:
Three heavy trucks broke down in the middle of the road at the Ajanta Ghat on the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar–Jalgaon Highway on Monday morning due to engine failures. This caused long queues of vehicles stretching up to four kilometres through the ghat. The traffic jam, which began at 6 AM, continued until 2 PM.
Three trucks, bearing numbers (MP 09 HH 2664), (RJ 45 GA 0571) and (MH 20 GZ 4143), travelling from Jalgaon towards Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, broke down in the ghat. One of the large trucks, which was carrying iron poles, got stuck in the middle of the road, bringing traffic to a complete standstill from 6 AM onwards. This caused significant hardship to commuters and travellers.
As soon as the incident was reported, Fardapur Police Station personnel Yogesh Koli and Yogesh Khadke, along with 10 Home Guards, rushed to the spot. The police team stayed themselves at every turn and cleared a path for smaller vehicles that were stuck.
After two of the trucks were repaired and moved, traffic was restored in a single-lane format by 2 PM. However, since the large truck carrying iron poles was still stranded in the ghat, traffic continued to move at a slow pace.
