The three-day Ganesh yadnya commenced on Monday at the Varad Ganesh temple in Samarthnagar on the occasion of Ganesh Jayanti. As many as 62 hosts participated, seated around 31 yadnya kunds, completing 21 cycles over a continuous six-hour period with the chanting of “Om Gan Ganapataye Namah”.
Thirty-one yadnya kunds have been arranged behind the Varad Ganesh temple and in the Samarth Ram temple, where a grand ritual setup was created with images of various deities. Earlier in the day, a palkhi procession was taken out in the area, with devotees raising slogans of “Ganpati Bappa Morya”. The yadnya began at 8.30 am and concluded at 2.30 pm on the first day.
On Tuesday, the yadnya will be held from 7 am to 1 pm, along with a felicitation of the hosts. On Wednesday, the final session will take place from 7 am to 12 noon, followed by the purnahuti to be performed by Bhushan Maharudra Swami of Sajjangad.
The rituals are being conducted under the guidance of Pankaj Khodegaonkar Guruji, with Gajanan Joshi Guruji and Piyush Deshpande Guruji officiating as priests. Devotees were present to witness the yadnya.
On the occasion, the white marble idol of Varad Ganesh was adorned with gold ornaments, including a golden throne, crown, trunk, hands, jewellery and modak, attracting devotees for darshan throughout the day.
