Aurangabad, Jan 17:

The country-wide Corona Vaccination drive began on Saturday, and 647 Corona warriors were administered vaccine on the first day of the drive in the district. Still, there are 32,353 health workers in the queue of vaccination. Now, drive was suddenly stopped for two days, and it is not yet clear whether it will resume on Tuesday. The district health machinery will receive the guidelines in this regard on Monday.

The health machinery had to implement the offline system for vaccination on the first day of the vaccination instead of the online system as the Co-win app could not be downloaded. Hence, the vaccination process was started late. Hence, the information about the vaccination to the beneficiaries were noted on the papers instead online at the centres. This situation was almost at all the centres in the district. The union government has directed to register for Covid-19 vaccination through the online system. However, there will be no vaccination on Sunday and Monday. Hence, the vaccination will be started only after the technical issues in the online system is resolved, the sources said.

Around 33,000 health employees have been registered in the district for vaccination while the district has received 34,000 doses of vaccines so far. On the first day, 647 employees were administered doses.

Additional district health officer, Dr Vijay Wagh said, the guidelines about the vaccination will be received on Monday while the vaccination will resume step by step from Tuesday and will be regularized from next week. Each health institute will plan according to the number of employees.
