Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The work of redevelopment of the city’s railway station was completed 35 per cent so far. The construction of the building towards the Satara area side will be completed first. The work of this building is nearing completion. South Central Railway (SCR) officials informed that there are plans to start work on administrative functioning in November.
The foundation laying and Bhoomi Pujan ceremony of 508 railway stations across the country, including the redevelopment of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Railway Station, was held online by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 6, 2023. Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Railway Station is being redeveloped with a fund of about Rs 241.27 crore.
Currently, the construction of a building towards Satara, that is Maal-Dhakka area, is in progress.
The work of a new building is also underway at a rapid pace on the site of the old station. There will be separate entrances for entry and exit at the railway station, just like at an airport.
MP Dr Karad held a review meeting on Saturday regarding various railway issues in SCE. Railway officials including Nanded Division Railway Manager (DRM) Pradeep Kamle were present. Information about the redevelopment of the railway station was given in the meeting.

The current railway station will be demolished in May. A new building will be built in its place, and passengers will get entry from here.

Work to be completed by Apr 2026
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagarkar will get a railway station equipped on the line of developed countries in April 2026. This station will have a 450-meter roof plaza. There will be four halls and many other facilities.

A flyover (railway overbridge) was proposed at Railway Station ‘MIDC.’ The cost of the project is expected to be around Rs 75 crore. Railway officials said that the DPR will be prepared soon. An underpass will be constructed at Railway Gate no 56 in Mukundwadi, and this will be a route where school buses will pass.
