Aurangabad, Nov 26:

The strength of voters eligible to cast their votes during Marathwada Graduates'' Constituency election is around 3.73 lakh. Of the total voters, the strength of female graduates in just 25 per cent. There are 2.86 male graduate voters and about 87,000 female voters only.

The district-wise strength of voters is as follows : Aurangabad - 1.63 lakh, Jalna - 29,765, Parbhani - 32,715, Hingoli-16,794, Nanded - 49,285, Beed - 63,436, Latur - 41,190 and Osmanabad-33,632. Besides, 813 polling stations have been set up for the voters in the division. They are 206 in Aurangabad, 74 in Jalna, 78 in Parbhani, 39 in Hingoli, 123 in Nanded, 88 in Latur, 74 in Osmanabad and 131 in Beed district.

The election department has appointed 937 micro-observers in the division to monitor the election process. The divisional commissioner (who is also the election returning officer) Sunil Kendrekar updated the chief executive officer (CEO) of the state election commission (SEC) Baldev Singh about the election preparations including staff management, the formation of different squads, schedule of counting of votes in all eight districts etc.

Kendrekar confirmed that the training of election staff from all eight districts has been completed. Besides, we are using various mediums to create awareness urging voters to cast votes in large number. The planning of maintaining law and order in each district by the police officers, the commissioner of police Nikhil Gupta and the special IGP KM Prasanna have been briefed to the election commission.
