Aurangabad, Oct 28:

In all, eight trains are operated from the Aurangabad Railway Station after a gap of almost seven months due to the Corona crisis. Moreover, around 3000 passengers are traveling to and from the city by trains daily.

The Corona outburst was witnessed in the city in March and the trains at the Aurangabad Railway Station were closed due to lockdown imposed across the nation. After two months, Sachkhand Express started running on the tracks of the city from June 1 onwards.

Now, after seven months, the trains for Mumbai have been started. South Central Railway (SCR) started Mumbai – Nanded – Mumbai special train from October 11. Owing to the Diwali festival in the coming days, two special festival trains have started, including Aurangabad – Hyderabad – Aurangabad and Dharmabad – Manmad – Dharmabad from October 24. Hence, the deserted railway station is now seen crowded with passengers.

Around 200 passengers travel daily from the city by Nanded – Mumbai, 500 by Dharmabad – Manmad, 250 by Hyderabad – Aurangabad and around 200 by Sachkhand Express, informed the railway officers.

As a precautionary measure, the antigen test of each passenger coming by the train in the city was conducted earlier but now these tests have been stopped at the railway station.
