Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation has launched the ‘Rajmata Jijau’ bus service equipped with modern facilities. Under this initiative, around 3,000 buses will be introduced across the state in phases, offering an affordable and smart travel option to passengers.

3,000 buses under ‘Rajmata Jijau’ service

To reduce overcrowding, 55-seater buses with a 3x2 seating arrangement have been introduced, ensuring passengers need not travel standing on busy routes. These modern buses have been named ‘Rajmata Jijau’.

More comfortable travel experience

While existing buses accommodate around 40 passengers, the new buses can seat 55 comfortably, benefiting nearly 15 additional passengers with seating.

Equipped with safety features

The buses include four CCTV cameras, GPS system, panic button, public announcement system and electronic route display, enhancing safety and convenience.

Demand for 80 buses

A demand for 80 ‘Rajmata Jijau’ buses has been made for the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar division, though allocation is yet to be finalised, said divisional controller Pramod Nehul.
