4-day ‘May Marathi Gaurav Festival to be held in Bamu

Chhatrapti Sambhajinagar:

The Department of Marathi Language and Literature of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Divisional Commissioner's Office and Student Development Board will jointly host a four-day May Marathi Gaurav Festival from February 24 to 27 at the department as part of Marathi Bhasha Din.

This four-day festival will be inaugurated on Tuesday with the Narhar Kurundkar Lecture Series.

A workshop on how to write songs on musical scales, how to choose words, and how to compose music by tying the melody of intertwined words will be held for budding poets, lovers and artists of Marathwada in the festival. The festival will conclude with a songwriting workshop and a lecture series by V L Kulkarni.

University Registrar Dr Prashant Amritkar, Head of the Marathi Department Dr Dasu Vaidya and Additional Commissioner (General Administration) Manjusha Miskar said that a songwriting workshop would be organised in the Marathi department at 12 noon on February 27 under the guidance of famous lyricist and musician Milind Joshi (Mumbai).

In the Narhar Kurundkar lecture series, famous writer Manik Puri from Parbhani will speak on creation, birds and literature at 12 noon on Tuesday.
