A nearly four-hour traffic jam in Daulatabad Ghat on Saturday left tourists and devotees stranded, disrupting travel plans.

The weekend holiday and Ramzan Eid rush drew heavy crowds to Ellora caves, Grishneshwar temple, and Daulatabad Fort, leading to long vehicle queues from afternoon. Tourists from within the district and other states thronged Khuldabad and Ellora, while devotees gathered since early morning at Bhadra Maruti Temple. The congestion began around 2 pm and continued till late evening. Such jams are common during festivals and consecutive holidays. Citizens have demanded removal of bottlenecks near the Daulatabad entrance, alternative routes, and better traffic management with increased police deployment.

The narrow stretch caused major congestion, with vehicles stuck along winding ghats roads, inconveniencing children and elderly. Despite police efforts, traffic volume overwhelmed the system.
