Aurangabad, March 22:

The four mastermind persons in the scam providing bogus sports certificates in trampoline and trembling sport events to the candidates for gaining government jobs have been arrested. The court has remanded the accused in the police custody.

The arrested have been identified as suspended sports officer Bhavrao Ramdas Veer 952), retired sports deputy director Rajkumar Dattatray Mahadwad, clerk of the irrigation department Shankar Shamrao Patange and agent Ankush Pralhad Rathod (Paregaon, Jalna).

The accused sold state level and national level bogus certificates in Trampoline and Tambling sports events to the candidates for Rs 25,000 to Rs 3 lakh. In all, 238 such bogus certificates were issued to the candidates. Accused Patange and Rathod used to search the candidates and accused Veer used to prepare the bogus certificates for them. Accused Mahadwad used to verify these bogus certificates. A case in this regard was registered at the Jawaharnagar police station and at Nagpur. The investigation of the Jawaharnagar police station case is being done by PSI Manoj Shinde and his team under the guidance of Crime Branch PI, Avinash Aghav. The four accused in the case were arrested between March 19 and 21.

Patange and Rathod were the officials of the sports organization and hence they came in contact. Many candidates from other district were shown as the residents of Aurangabad and were issued the bogus certificates.
