A six-day yoga introduction camp was held at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Central Jail from April 6 to 11 with the permission of the deputy inspector general of prisons, Central Division.

The programme was conducted by the Swami Vivekananda Yoga Training Centre under the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Samiti. Forty inmates participated in the camp, guided by yoga instructors Balkrishna Khanvelkar and Ambadas Wagh along with trainees. Participation certificates were distributed by prison superintendent Anil Khamkar, additional superintendent Sachin Salve and senior jail officer Randive. Yoga trainees were also honoured for their contribution. Officials said the initiative helped improve inmates’ physical and mental well-being and encouraged them to continue practising yoga regularly.
