Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The Telangana State Haj Committee (TSHC) on Thursday conducted a draw of lots and selected 670 pilgrims for free accommodation at Rubath Nizam Hyderabad in the holy city of Makkah for Haj 2026.

The selected 670 pilgrims are from Telangana, Karnataka and Maharashtra states. It includes 22 families comprising 51 aspirants from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district.

According to sources, pilgrims performing Haj generally stay for 45 to 50 days in the holy cities of Makkah and Madina. The Rubath accommodation, located in Makkah, will house the selected pilgrims for at least 25 days. The government normally charges around 2,200 Saudi riyals per pilgrim for hotel accommodation in Makkah. As the Rubath facility is provided free of cost, the selected pilgrims will not have to pay any accommodation charges for their stay there. Consequently, each pilgrim is expected to receive a refund of more than ₹50,000 after completing the holy pilgrimage.
