Aurangabad, July 12:

Out of the 12,000 proposed posts in the state police department, 5,200 posts will be filled by December end, informed the state home minister Dilip Walse Patil in a press conference here on Monday. After taking charge as the home minister, he came to the city for the first time. He attended a meeting of the police officers of the Aurangabad circle and later interacted with the press. Director general of police Sanjay Pandey, Police Commissioner Dr Nikhil Gupta, special Inspector General of Police Dr K M Mallikarjun, and others were present.

Walse Patil said that a decision had been taken to solve the pending issue of police recruitment soon. The government is also planning that the police should get good offices and houses. The officers have been directed that the residents should be treated with courtesy, he said. Efforts are being taken so that the crime against women should be addressed immediately, and the culprits should get the punishment at the earliest. Action will be taken to restrict the cyber crimes, he mentioned.

Earlier, the constables could get only three promotions during their service and could reach the post of assistant sub-inspector only. But now, they will be given four promotions and will be retired as sub-inspectors. The home loans for the police were stopped due to the financial measures in the Corona pandemic. Now, the demand for home loans has increased considerably, and a meeting was held to discuss the issue recently. A decision will be taken in this regard soon.

Taunting on the recent actions executed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Walse Patil said that the ED has no work left, and hence, the offices are frequently coming to Maharashtra. Such institutions are being misused, he mentioned.
