Aurangabad, Feb 25:

The Corona vaccination drive for the residents above 60 years and above 45 years with co-morbidities will begin from March 1. There are around 5.5 lakh such residents in both these categories in the district. Although, the union government has announced the vaccination date, guidelines for the registration, use of app and other information are still awaited. These guidelines are expected to be received by Friday evening.

In the first phase of vaccination, the health employees across the country were given Corona vaccines from January 16 onwards. Around 33,000 health employees in the district were administered vaccines in this phase. Later, the front-line workers were administered vaccines in the second phase. Now, in the third phase, the senior citizens above the age of 60 years and above 45 years with co-morbidities will be administered vaccines.

District vaccination officer Dr Vijaykumar Wagh said that the guidelines from the government are expected by Friday evening. Then all the issues regarding registration and the use of app will be cleared. There are around 5.5 lakh such residents in the district in these two categories, he said.
